Chemical Management Office
Chemical Recycling Program

Introduction:

Chemical Management Office has developed a surplus chemical redistribution program under the divison of Hazardous Waste.

This program is designed to reduce chemical costs across campus and to reduce the number of good chemicals that are disposed of as hazardous waste simply because they are surplus to the current needs of the research group.

How to use the System

Obtaining Free Chemicals

ONLY individuals who have current hazardous waste training and are working in CSU laboratories will be allowed to receive and donate to the EHS Recycling Program. The items in stock are provided at no cost to any hazardous waste trained user.

To view or request chemicals from our current inventory you will need to logon (click the "Login Chem Surplus" button above) to our secure website using the username and password provided with your hazardous waste training.

Once logged in you will be able to browse our inventory and use a shopping cart to make selections.

Adding Items to the Recycling Program

If you have items that are no longer needed and feel they would be good for our recycling program please submit the items as normal hazardous waste using our electronic Request for Disposal (eRFD).

You will not need to make any special notes on the eRFD or submit it differently than your normal hazardous waste.

EHS then checks each item submitted as hazardous waste and determines which items can be placed into our chemical recycling program.
